Butere, Kenya
Butere is a small rural village in the Western Province of Kenya. Getting to Butere usually includes a flight into the city of Nairobi and then all-day travel by car, bus or van through the beautiful Kenya countryside.
Although many individuals in Butere are employed in schools, local medical facilities, or government offices, most families are poor farmers who rely on raising crops and chickens or offer general labor to earn a meager living.
